New Pixo

The Nissan Pixo city car, largely based on the Suzuki Alto, was first seen on the European market in 2009.  The 5-door, 4-seater hatchback is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine.  The Nissan Pixo is available through Nissan’s UK main dealer network in three specification levels, with prices starting from £7,195.

The entry-level model in the Nissan Pixo range is the Nissan Pixo 1.0 Visia, which is priced from £7,195.  The Nissan Pixo 1.0 Visia has a 5-speed manual gearbox fitted to its 67bhp, 12-valve, 1.0-litre petrol engine, giving the car a top speed of of 96mph and a combined fuel economy figure of 64.2mpg.  Its 103g/km of CO2 emissions figure results in it falling just short of the lowest Road Tax Band A.  In terms of standard equipment you get power steering, driver and passenger airbags, CD player and immobiliser.  Optional extras on the Nissan Pixo 1.0 Visia include alloy wheels for £417, metallic paint for £415, rear parking sensor for £365, and Bluetooth and MP3 connectivity as a £200 joint option.

The £8,195 Nissan Pixo n-tec boasts the same engine and performance figures as the Nissan Pixo 1.0 Visia, but boasts a greater level of standard equipment.  The Nissan  Pixo 1.0 n-tec gains central locking, alloy wheels, air conditioning, electric front windows, front side airbags, all included as standard.  Metallic paint, rear parking sensor, bluetooth, and MP3 connectivity, remain as optional extra’s on the Nissan Pixo 1.0 n-tec, but the model gains an additional optional extra of electronic stability control for £450.

The Nissan Pixo 1.0 n-tec is also available with a 4-speed automatic gearbox, for £9,095.  The Nissan Pixo 1.0 n-tec automatic is fitted with the same 996cc, 12-valve petrol engine as the rest of the Nissan Pixo range.  In automatic form the fuel economy is compromised somewhat, with the combined fuel economy figure being reduced to 54.3mpg.  CO2 emissions also increase with the fitting of the automatic gearbox, with the figure of 122g/km putting the Nissan Pixo 1.0 n-tec automatic into Road Tax Band D.
